Het grote LiteTouchPE_x86.wim raadsel (deel 1)

Volgens diverse internet sites dien je in Windows DS LiteTouchPE_x86.wim toe te voegen
na installatie van BDD 2007

Op de Microsoft site (TechNet) staat echter :

To capture an image of a build, create a lab deployment point that’s configured to capture an image. In the Specify whether to prompt for image capture page of the BDD Deployment Point Wizard, select the Ask if an image should be captured check box.

To capture an image, start a lab computer using the Windows PE bootable image generated by updating the deployment point. ( dus alleen hiervoor ... ) Start the Windows PE bootable images in either of two ways. First, burn the ISO images that BDD 2007 generates when a deployment point is updated to a DVD. These ISO image files reside in the \Boot folder of the distribution share.

Second, add the LiteTouchPE_x86.wim or LiteTouchPE_x64.wim image files to the Boot Images item of a Windows DS server. The .wim image files reside in the \Boot folder of the distribution share. But with BDD 2007, we take a different approach. Instead of using the standard "boot.wim" as the boot image, we use the LiteTouchPE_x86.wim. This image contains the hooks to run the BDD deployment wizard, which can be automated to specify all the values that you want to configure in advance (through CustomSettings.ini).

Add BDD Lite-Touch Boot Image to WDS
1. Open the WDS console
2. Right-click the Boot Images node and select New
3. Browse to the location of the LiteTouch boot image (D:\Distribution\Boot\LiteTouchPE_x86.wim)
4. Enter a name and description for the image
